Two years ago my parents took me on a holiday to Fiji. It was beautiful and relaxing and I had a wonderful time. I went snorkeling and visited a reef that was recovering from being nearly destroyed two years earlier. I went on a scary bus ride with a mad driver on the twisting, winding road in need of repair.

I was 22 weeks pregnant on that holiday, so all the fancy cocktails I ordered were made without alcohol. Not quite the same but it was fun pretending. It’s probably needless to say that my feet haven’t looked this good since that holiday.

  • Boikido!
  • Sing-a-longs with the toddler, especially when she starts yodeling to The Lonely Goatherd.

But it’s not the sort that will bring some much needed rain.

I’m not in a good spot right now. Nothing that a good nights sleep wouldn’t fix, or a Division One Tattslotto win, but I’ve been a lot better. I want to scream words that I don’t normally say. I’m angry at everyone. Some people deservedly so, most not.

I should be happy. I’m playing in a netball Grand Final tomorrow. My kids are gorgeous and delightful. I’ve been crafting. The business is doing well. It’s my birthday next week. However, not getting more than two hours of sleep in a row all week is really bringing me down.

I’ll be alright, I know it.  I’m taking the night off.  This too shall pass.

It’s only 11am and today has already sucked on about ten different levels.

Bad Mama moment #345: I traded jellybeans with the toddler so I could trim up her fringe. The toddler is joyous and trying all at the same time. She loves to run and chase. She likes to “see cook” when I’m in the kitchen. She likes to help change the baby’s nappy and bring her toys. And I’m pretty sure she called her Dad a silly bugger last night.

The baby is gorgeous, smiley and chatty. She loves to interact with people. She lights up when she sees her sister. She loves the Jolly Jumper and Giddy Up Horsey. She’s creeping backwards and gets very frustrated when she moves further away from the object of her attention.

In other news, I ended up losing the remote locker for my car (see post below). I still had my key and was going to just use that to manually lock/unlock the car (the horror!). That was until the security system went mad and would go off whenever I used my key, leaving me to drive all the way home with the hazard lights flashing. They would go off after a couple of minutes, then come back on any time I changed gears or used the turning indicators. I was so embarrassed, but thankfully the alarm had been disabled and I wasn’t beeping all the way home too. So I had to fork out the cash for a new remote locker and be extra, extra careful with my keys.

I’ve been sewing like a fiend for the alt.life crafty baby exchange, but I cannot share any photos until they have reached their recipients. I’ve been trying out new techniques and improving my finishing and feeling pretty darn satisfied with myself. I also got an early birthday present, but I’m going to save that for another post.

I’ve been told that comments aren’t working. I don’t know why it is so nor the know-how to figure it out.  I’ll just pretend that everyone is trying to leave me lovely comments.

Clue #1 that 6hrs sleep a night is not sustainable 1 June, 2007

In the last three days I have:

  • Freaked out because I couldn’t find my car key, only to find it in the ignition of my locked car, radio on.  Luckily the battery didn’t run flat.
  • Borrowed D’s car key because I couldn’t find my own, only to find I couldn’t use them because my own key was already in the ignition.  This was a separate incident to the previous one.
  • In the same night, freaked out because I couldn’t find the remote locker for the car and my key was locked in the car, only to find that I had left the remote locker, key and my wallet in my unlocked car.  At least my key wasn’t still in the ignition.
