I can hardly think of a post, let alone a title 5 November, 2007

It’s only the fourth of November and I’m already slacking on this NaPloPoMo. I promise that not every post this month is going to be about my kids.
One of the good things about toddlers are they are little mirrors. They will throw back any of your parenting right back at you. Last night when I was beyond tired, too many late nights, too many night wake ups and not enough naps, I had had enough. And so when I was talking to my husband and the toddler was getting right in my ear and yapping, I told her to shut up. I used a lot more words than that, trying to explain why I wanted her to stop talking.
The toddler is an astute little creature. They filter out all the garbage and come back with the cliff notes version. It wasn’t a minute or two later, I was still talking to my husband and the toddler starts with “Mummy, shut up. Shut up. Shut up, Mummy.” And so I put the baby that would not go to sleep down and announced that “If no one else is going to bed, then I will.” And I did.
